At first glance Clicker Heroes seems to be an RPG. But under this familiar appearance lies a simple game that demands you rescue the world one click at a time.
The mouse is your gun
The aim of Heroes Clicker is to have an army that works for you to vanquish your enemies. If this was another game this task would complicate planning strategies, but here is just a matter of a few clicks: beat small enemies by clicking on them, get coins, buy upgrades, defeat bigger enemies… rinse repeat. At least until you are ready to go to bed.
It isn’t just nameless heroes though, as you play you will gain access to more powerful heroes, with an ancestry, and unique skills.
The Clicker Cookie Monster
If you played Cookie Clicker, the popular biscuit baking game, Clicker Heroes’s mechanics will be instantly familiar. Basically it is the same, but designed to look like a fantasy RPG.
The truth is that the game’s mechanics can be grasped in less than two minutes, but can keep you hooked for hours. The trouble is that, at some point, you are so powerful that you will no longer find any challenge to make it fun... or maybe you will, I guess that all depends on your level of addiction.
Addictive... until you get bored
If you start to play Heroes Clicker I assure you that, at least initially, you will not be able to stop. Its simplistic mechanic proves moreish even for the most reluctant, but once the novelty wears off you may find yourself quickly tiring of it.
